Education in Haiti During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has devastated many countries’ economies and healthcare systems. All around the world, people are losing jobs because of stay-at-home orders imposed to curb the spread of the disease. Even providers of Clinical Services in Irvington, New Jersey, like us, were forced to deal with the crisis.

Even as we are suffering here in our country, many third-world nations like Haiti are suffering even more. The most affected demographics are the children and the elderly. The children are particularly vulnerable to the effects of the pandemic, and this can considerably affect their future. Education is already challenging to implement in a country like Haiti, and this pandemic only makes it worse.

There are plenty of alternative methods of providing education, however. And with the proper funding, some of these can be made a reality. For example, children in far-flung and impoverished areas can use battery-powered transistor radios to receive lessons and instructions. Providers of Home Base Counseling Services such as READ Consultant and Clinical Services Inc, are regularly developing more ideas like this.

If you want to know what you can do to help, we’ll be happy to get you up to speed. We are a Psychosocial Evaluation in New Jersey that also aims to help children in Haiti get a decent education.
